Hello ian.

I`ve been trying to make some avatar`s. I`ve made about four which I like.
But when I come to upload them via PC Review a message comes up and informs me:
"Bulletin Message.
The uploaded file is not a valid GIF, JPG or PNG file.
Please ensure that it is and try again."

What do I do now? I`ve also had a look on Google for avatar`s,...I`ll leave it there.
many thanks for any more help.

Unless it is some kind of error with pcreview,

Open your chosen avatar in MS paint and save it as the relevant file (click file>save as, then select JPG,GIF or PNG from the drop down menu under the file name) . Should work. :)

Recommend saving it as GIF as it uses the least memory.

Hope that helped :thumb:

Gif will lose you quality though & alter the colours slightly, in something as small as an avatar that can make a lot of difference.
I had some trouble a while ago when PCR kept rejecting my png files, but when I changed them to jpgs they uploaded just fine.
Also... check your reformatting. For some reason I have run into trouble before with the watermark program labeling my pictures as jpgs when it later turned out that they were png files (These also were rejected by PCR) if I'm reformatting I'll always use graphic converter now. Or photoshop of course. Those are both generally trustworthy programs)

Hi.

I`ve finally got an avatar to work, It`s been a struggle;)
So thanks to all who helped me out in this most taxing of tasks.
Tonight I`ve even learned how to place emoticons in my posts,
with the help of my daughter.
Again many thanks.
