re-booting

I just ran a number of security updates including
KB824105, KB824146, 823718,811493,Q817287,816093 and
814078. When I restarted my pc it now goes into a terminal
re-boot loop. The only way I could stop it was to start
last known good config from boot.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm running winXP Pro, ZoneAlarm pro and Norton
Systemworks 2003 on a cable connection.. So my other
question is will I be safe without these updates if I cant
find the problem.

Thanks

The repeated rebooting is because your machine is set to reboot. This
registry value is set:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl = 1
If this had been set to 0, you would have seen a BSOD instead.
Because booting into the last known good config works, I would be inclined
to believe that you had a driver problem.

I would not recommend running without any of the security patches for
Windows - several of them protect against the viruses that are running
rampant right now.

You might want to check with your other hardware and software vendors to see
if they have patches, too.
