re-activating xp

Does anyone know if not activating stops xp from running
programs or loading programs?..I had some problems so I
reloaded xp and wanted to make sure everything was
working right before I re-activated, but everytime I try
to load a program or run an installation my pc will shut
down and restart..

Any help would be great.. thanks in advance

No Problem

No, XP should not have any problems like this as long as
it hasn't been 15(?) days. You will need to activate
before then or XP will stop working completely.

Not activating "just" means your computer stops booting XP properly once the
trial period is over and the machine should function perfectly well
otherwise, so the fault lies elsewhere for any weirdness you see. I'm sad to
say it sounds like you still have problems with that computer :(

Probably being caused by a "System Failure" class error.

Open Control Panel - System (WindowsKey+Pause) - Advanced - Startup
and Recovery Settings and clear the "Automatically Restart" checkbox
in the System Failure section.

That should put an end to the rebooting but may just result in BSOD
"STOP" error messages. If so, post the results back here, including
the complete information from the STOP error message.

Good luck
