RDP display bug XP

When using Remote Desktop I get "remnants" of drop-down
lists cluttering my display, making using some
applications very difficult.
eg. in IE, browsing the favorites lists, going from a long
list to a short list, the top bar of the IE app
(about:blank Microsoft In..) remains pasted on the screen
where the list was previously, covering up the window
underneath.
Often, these remnants persist even when moving the window.
Sometimes the only way to remove these remnants, is to
move the window off the desktop, and bring it back,
thereby forcing windows to refresh the view of the app,
and thus clean up the remnants, or to switch to another
app whic covers this app, and then come back.
I have not seen this problem when connecting to win2k or
win2003 RDP, only when connecting to winXP remote desktop.
Is there a fix?
Thanks
Christophe

I've seen this in one instance among many. I tend to believe it is a
graphics driver issue. I suggest trying an updated graphics driver on the
client machine.
