RC1 on Notebooks

Hi,

Well after installing RC1 on my desktop and being very pleased by the
outcome, I decided to install, with a dual boot on my notebook and... as i
didnt totally expect, it ran rather well lol. Ok, it didnt allow Aero cos my
on-board graphics just misses out on Direct X 3D, however even when I ran
Media Center, played some music, minimized it and ran internet explorer it
coped very well indeed. I must also note is that this happened within the
hour of installation so windows may still have been trying to index all the
files etc...

However, there is one thing I dont know why (on my notebook running on
vista) but the battery icon is not displayed nor can i add the power icon
onto the taskbar in the settings. Vista lets me choose what happens when I
close the lid/press sleep button etc... but nothing to do with the battery.
Any ideas?

Overall, very pleased.

cheers,

So anyone else done a clean install of vista and noticed no battery options
or no special options just for notebooks?

The notebook power profile is reached by right clicking on the desktop and
choosing Personalize. Choose Screen Saver and then click the "Change Power
Settings..." link at the bottom of the page.
