Does on and offline defragmentation passes of paging files, metadata, free space and system -absolutely brilliant improvement in HD performance -needed increasingly more if you using HD for scratchdisk or downloading stuff.
Windows is constantly accessing the drives as you well know, so the less fragmented the HD the quicker everything will be.
