Presumably you are talking about the Addressbook view of your contacts when
you click on the "to" button in a New Mail Window?
Only contacts that have a valid electronic address (either email or fax)
will appear in that view.

The addresses do have email addresses. I have had the same computer for 4 years and this is the first time I have had this problem. Specifically with addresses that have worked correctly before.
If you're speaking of the autocompletion cache (the list of names that pops up
when you start typing), that list has no connection with your Contacts in any
way whatsoever. It is simply a memory of the addresses to which you've sent
mail in the past, whether or not those addresses are contact addresses.
Any Contact with a valid electronic address will appear in the address book
view. Accordingly any Contact that is not appearing either has no valid
address or does not reside in the folder you are viewing. Only you can
figure out which it is or what might have corrupted the electronic addresses
of the Contacts that don't appear. If you recreate such a Contact I bet it
shows, doesn't it?
