RAM causing conflict??

Aids

I am running system with AD73 Pro mainboard with 256mb
PC2100 266mHz DDR SDRAM Dimm. I purchased a 512mb PC2700
333mHz to add to my existing module but the two are
refusing to work together and cause my PC to crash. Is
this common? What is the problem?

Because you cannot run an unmatched set. They both must be PC2100 or 2700
and they both must run at either 266 or 333.

Greetings --

It's absolutely essential that any new RAM module(s) be fully
compatible with both the motherboard and/or any other RAM module(s)
already in the system. Additionally, there are sometimes jumper
switches on older motherboards that need to be reset for new RAM
configurations. Consult your motherboard's manual or the
manufacturer's web site for specific instructions and compatibility
requirements.
