rainbow band on prints

L

Laurence Wilmer

Suddenly got a problem - a blue/orange/red stripe on all prints about an
inch from the end. It is always the same, is not present on the image,
doesn't happen if I print on plain paper A4.
Here's a sample

Printer is Canon S520, I have tried changing ink cartridges, different
paper - (have always used Inkrite ink and their IRC satin paper with great
results, am shocked by the pale image I get from Kodak ultra glossy). And
tried re-installing the printer driver.

What else to try - suggestions?
Thanks,

Hi Laurence,

Sorry to hear about the problem you are having with poor results. The
banding seems like it may be related to the printer head. I would try
cleaning the heads. Is the ink Canon ink? How old is the ink cartridge
you are using. How about the image itself, does it appear normal? Try
printing it on a different printer. If you have cleaned the printer, and
have new ink cartridges, then it is quite likely the printer. In that case,
I would send off an email or phone call to them asking for help. They in
turn can provide details on how to proceed or get it into them for service.

Good luck!
