Raid Controller, and CD drives

For some reason My dvd rom and dvd writer no longer appear, they are in the
device manager, with a yellow exclmation mark, but will not update drivers, I
also Have an exclamation mark next to Raid Controller under OTHER DEVICES.
I am running xp pro, I have an Nvidia Geforce 5600 graphics card, 1gb ram
and no idea what has gone wrong, can anyone assist

There shouldn't ever be a "Other Devices" - whenever it appears you need
to get the listed device's appropriate driver installed.

On the exclamated devices, did you double-click each one to get the details
box open and see what error/reason the device cannot start ?

Something has happened to cause devices to go to an inactive state. Have
you made any hardware changes or modified any BIOS settings recently ?
Maybe updated a driver ?

You probably need to run MSIinfo32.Exe to examine how the system is
configured. Perhaps it's an IRQ assignment issue. Check data in the hardware
resources category.
