RAID contoller

Just after a little help, i hope wot i say makes sense! I am trying to do a
clean install on windows XP which i did last nite, everything went great,
once windows loaded up i installed the various drivers i required (audio,
video etc). But still noticed that there was an issue (under the devices
section) with the RAID controller. Not originally knowing wot the hell it was
i researched on this forum and the web and learnt that with a sata hdd (as
opposed to an ide) raid controllers must be installed. I understand that at
the beginning of the installation process (once windows boots from the xp cd)
you are prompted to hit f6 to load raid controller (which on my second
attempt at the clean install i did). But it then prompted me about 20 seconds
later (on a blue screen i hadnt seen before) to press either enter to
continue or 's' which i pressed but it then asked me to insert a floppy disk
(i assume that would contain the raid controller drivers (from the
manufacturer) to, i am guessing, load them into the installation process).
Where do i download wot i need to put onto a floppy disk to insert at this
point in the installation to load raid controller driver? And if i do this
should this fix the problem? I am guessing this computer must have a sata hdd
as my other has no issue with formatting and installing xp no worries (my
other computer us a little older and so i guessing it must have an ide hdd)

If anyone has a spare sec to reply (hopefully you understood wot i was
trying to say and the issue i have) that would be highly appreciated. I
looked through countless threads on this forum and couldnt manage to come
across the answer. If it helps to know, the motherboard is an ASUS P4S-800-MX
x series. Not sure it this helps.

Cheers and thanks in advance for any replies.

1) What is "wot"?
2) SATA does not necessarily equal RAID.

Thanks for the advice and i appoligise for the use of slang. Didnt mean to
offend you!!!!

I have since discovered (and i think it is right) that the raid controller
is only necessary if i am using 2 or more hdds? Is this right? I was advised
to disable the raid controller because with only one hdd it is useless?

Is this right?

Cheers
