RAID 1 and Recovery console

After starting the Recovery Console using the Windows XP Pro CD, the command
prompt can find (MAP) my RAID drives. It can only find my floppy and other
hard drive. Unfortunately, the files I want to work with are on the RAID
drives, but as I said, the Recovery Console can't find them. Anyone know why
or how to get it to see them? Thanks

You must F6 (at setup is inspecting your system) and load the raid
controller driver in order to start the recovery console. You'll be prompted
to insert the manufacturer supplied Windows XP driver for your drive's
controller in drive "A"

Thanks Dave. I'll try that assuming I can find the floppy with the drivers.
If not, is there a way to run the recovery console from windows xp itself
after booting properly? I guess what I'm asking is if there is a way to
install the recovery console onto the hard drive. Thanks again. John

Yes, you can. Create the integrated install and install the RC from there.

Then run;
D:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons

(either case you'll still need to F6 and supply the raid controller driver)
