Radeon 9800 does not play AVI on TV

I have got an ATI Radeon 9800 video card. Via a wireless video
transmitter (Thomson VS 540) I try to play movies on my TV. Everythink
works well except playing AVI files. I tried to play AVI files via
realplayer, windows media player and powerDVD 5. The TV just shows a
purple square in the box where to movie should show. On my computer
monitor the movie can be seen without any problems. The funny thing is
when I play a DVD in my computers DVD player this movie is shown well
on the TV.

Who can help me out?

The video-overlay WILL NOT show in secondary monitor when in plain
clone-mode...You need to enable "Theater mode" from driver options
(overlay->clone mode options).
