Radeon 9600XT with P4C800E-dlx?

I was intending to put together a games system with an Asus P4C800E-dlx and a
Radeon 9600XT video card (probably Asus' own), but the recent exchange about
Matrox video card incompatibilities shook me, and looking through Abxzone, it
appears that everything is maybe not so rosy with the Asus 9600XT either. It's
the way of things, of course, that it's much easier to come across negative
comments about mobo/video card combos, so if you have any practical experience
with the P4C800E-dlx and any Radeon 9600XL video card could you please relate
your experience here, and especially if it was _positive_...? Thanks!

Not exactly the same hardware, but i am using the p4p800 (865pe) with a 9600
pro and it is just fine. It runs at 8x and is rock solid on the performance
in Tomb Raider and other games. I have it hooked up thru the DVI port to a
17" LCD and use the Omega drivers and I will never go back to a CRT!

If you are worried about AGP voltages, don't this card will work without a
hitch.

Because it prompted me to scan the forums on Abxzone, and there were several
postings there that mentioned issues with Asus's Radeon 9600XT (not specifically
in relation to any particular motherboard, but who knows?). So it's not just
Matrox. I just wanted to avoid any forseeable nastinesses with the combo I had
in mind (P4C800E-dlx and any maker's 9600XT), and there's nothing more
convincing than actual experience. In forums and newsgroups (by their nature)
you usually don't get many positive reports unless you ask for 'em.

<sigh> You clearly didn't read my posting that started this thread. To repeat: I
was asking for (preferably positive) reports on P4C800E-dlx/Radeon combos that
people are actually using. What's so funny about that? If there's no problem,
fine, there's no-one going to be happier than me. I want to put together a new
system, and life's too short to be messing around with incompatible hardware or
waiting for a BIOS upgrade that the manufacturer will never get round to
providing. I'm sure that there's a lot of people around who would benefit from
this information, which is why I asked it here. If you are responding that you
have actually used both ATI and Asus 9600XT cards successfully with a P4C800, I
thank you; OTOH, if you are just indulging in empty armchair rhetoric, who's the
comedian...?

I'm running a P4C800-E Deluxe with VGAs 9600XT - no problems.

I'm running the same mobo with an ATI-AIW-9800 Pro. I know its not the
same video card but it is a Radeon and works very well.
