Radeon 9600 Pro, Windows 2000, Dual Monitor settings not retainedon reboot...

Well I scanned back and saw lots of similar problems but maybe not the
exact same one, so maybe someone out there knows the answer without me
having to resort to calling ATI :/

I just swapped out a AIW 8500DV for a 9600Pro. I downloaded and
installed the latest Catalyst, Hydravision, Control Panel, etc. I'm on
Windows 2000.

I have a crt on the left side and an LCD on the right on my desk, and I
can go in and activate dual-monitor fine, but after I reboot the
monitors get switched. It REALLY wants me to swap these two, but due to
my desk layout I'm loathe to do it. I can go in and fix it, but after
every reboot it's reverted.

Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to get 'Desktop Manager', which I'm
only using for the hotkeys that I can setup to move an app between
monitors, to load at bootup? I really must be overlooking something
obvious here

Thanks,
BJ

this is sort of happening for me too - I have LCD primary on l/h and CRT
secondary on r/h. Every boot I have to go into Display/Settings and
unattach/apply/attach/apply the CRT to get it to 'refresh' it's settings
which are retained, just not applied. (otherwise the display on CRT is
horrible green/60hz, display on LCD is perfect) I have looked all over for a
solution and think I can remember reading a post about this but cannot find
it again now that I need it (of course....)

well i should have tried this first but it's a PITA with all the
senseless windows rebooting...

i just uninstalled all ati stuff and re-installed the drivers that came
on the cd with my card.

i had a few initial settings problems, but seem to have it under control
now.

of course, i'm afraid to upgrade my drivers at this point (which i don't
normally mind doing) *eye roll at ati*

g'luck

hey, I just upgraded to Cat 3.9, without uninstalling, and it's working
fine, settings applied as expected......
