Radeon 8500/DVI

I replaced my dead CRT with a Viewsonic 171b LCD. Works great in analog
mode but no DVI reception. My video is a Radeon 8500. Viewsonic supplies
both an analog and DVI cable..
Looking back at the ATI specs, it says the 8500 "supports" DVI (whatever
that means). I am running the Viewsonic at its native resolution of 1280 x
1024 @ 60hz.
Any suggestions?
Can you attach BOTH cables, and would there be any possible reason to do so?

I have an Eizo L565 17" TFT using DVI output to my ATI 8500 with no probs at
1280x1024.

Hi Steve,
I'm having the same problem with an AIW 9800 Pro, using a BenQ FP791 LCD.
The analog VGA connection to the monitor runs fine, but as soon as I connect
the DVI cable, regardless of all the boot and powerup sequences, results in
a No Signal message on the monitor. I've been playing with it now for about
1 month, without luck. The only thing I've noticed is that as soon as I
uninstall ATI's CAT3.10 drivers, and load only the standard Microsoft
drivers, than the DVI works fine with the card. It leaves me with the
conclusion that this is a serious bug in ATI's drivers. However, to date, I
have not found a solution.
Just thought to give you a heads up that yours is not a unique situation.

Best of luck, and let me know if you get a fix.

I'm using Catalyst drivers also...version 03.2. Maybe I'll try switching to
Omega drivers and see how that works.
Anyone else using the Omega drivers for their digital flat panel?
