Quorum Disk- corruption

K

Kami

Hi;
I am setting up two servers in a cluster environment with
external storage.

During the initial setup I setup the cluster services and
the nodes - all were working fine until I decided to
change the configuration. The quorum disk was lost and
now I can not do anything with the cluster.

I have searched all over MSDN to find out how I can
delete the cluster to start over but I can not. I guess
I can always start over with a new cluster but how do I
delete the old cluster?

I am new in this cluster world and any help is greatly
appreciated.

Regards,
Kami

Thanks for the reply.

I forgot to mention I am dealing with 2003 Server. It
appears to be different.

Hi Kami,
In Windows Server 2003 to completely delete the cluster all you have to do
is evict both nodes from the cluster using the cluster administrator. This
will delete the clustdb and the clusdb.log file wich essentially removes
the cluster. You can then reboot the node, restart cluster administrator
and create a new cluster.

Cami,
Thanks for the update. Given the RPC error that is being returned I would
suggest the first thing to do is verify that the service is running. If it
is not then that is where focus should be placed on troubleshooting.

If it is running try connecting to the cluster via the cluster
administrator by using a "." instead of the cluster name. Any failures to
load will be noted by a pop-up and by a log in the system log. The System
log may also provide further clues as to the nature of the problem. I am
posting an excerpt from our support page that lists support number for your
convenience as well if you want to give another try to calling us.
