Quicktime suppressing Windows Media Player

I would like all video files that I download/import onto my computer to be
formatted for windows media player; however, for some reason unknown to me,
all video files that I download/import are automatically in the .mov format.
I have made windows media player my default player for all audio/visual files
(except .mov, which is the only format that I have left to quicktime). All
video files on my camera used to show up as .wmv, even when I looked at them
while they were still on the camera, but now even video files that are on the
camera are showing up as .mov files.

Thank you.

If your camera is saving files in the mov format, it's because the options of
the camera are set to do that. Look at the documentation for your camera.
