Quickbooks registry problem

When trying to load quickbooks 2004 onto my computer, i get the error message
" The reg file HROrganizer.reg could not be merged into the registry. "

I had no problem loading quickbooks 2005 onto the same computer, quickbooks
support said I had a registry problem.

Any suggestions? Thank You Al

You might have more luck posting in microsoft.public.win2000.general as this
group is geared towards internal W2k applications - or do a google search to
see if anyone else has had this issue.

Can you find that file on the installation media, assuming it isn't
something the installation routine extracts from another file, and edit
it/look at it?
Any other error messages? Event logs?

And totally OT, but why not use 2005 anyway?
