Intuit has not been customer friendly when it comes to Vista.
There is no update that makes QuickBooks versions prior to 2007
compatible with Vista. You have to purchase a 2007 version. We have
multiuser QuickBooks and replacing our 2006 version was very costly. The
only good news is that you can probably argue with Intuit and get a
small "upgrade" discount on 2007 and a substantial subsequent discount
on QuickBooks 2008 which will be available in the Fall 2007.
I can confirm that QuickBooks 2007 runs fine on Windows Server 2007. It
is supposed to be OK on Vista.
Brenda,
did you get an answer?
I know you can install on XP, then upgrade to Vista and it works.
however i've just put a fresh install of Windows 7 on my notebook, and
have the same issue.
QuickBooks 2007 or later will run on Vista. I will assume that Windows 7 has
the same restrictions on QuickBooks access to system files.
If you are so advanced to be using Window 7, give QuickBooks 2010 a try...
