Quick Time has hijacked TIFF file association

TheQuick Time player that was installed when I upgraded
my AOL software to version 9.0 has displaced the Windows
fax and picture viewer as my preferred app. to open TIFF
files.

I've restored my preference in Folder Options and changed
the MIME settings for Quick Time; the viewer now opens,
but all I get is a "no preview available" message.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
