quick question about BFG 7950GT card

I am hesitating buying the BFG Tech 7950 GT OC graphics card because
it looks like a
card geared for more advanced machines and for those who like to over
clock. By installing this card does this mean I'll have to monitor
its heat more so than the PNY Verto 7950GT? I don't want to worry
about overclocking and heat with my computer, so should I look at the
PNY one instead? Or can I install this card without overclocking it?

Here is the Amazon.com listing:

Thanks for any help,
John

Step 1: Which card has the better warranty ? Which company responds best to
warranty claims ? And is the warranty still valid, depending on
where or from whom you buy the card ?

Step 2: Check the noise level. And if the card is rated as noisy, is there
actually a good aftermarket cooler that is compatible with
the design of the card? Some reviews here...

Step 3: You can always turn the clock down on a card if you want.
Usually there are utilities that can help you do that.

The 7950GT is about 61.1W of heat output. That heat will be dumped into your
case, so you should have good case cooling, to remove the heat. That is the
heat equivalent to a Core2 Duo..

It's barely overclocked.

As far as I know, the 7950 GT only uses about 65 W maximum.

Seems to me it takes a top-of-the-line system to drive it though.
My Opteron 152 with PC3200 RAM seems to be the bottleneck now.

Ouch. I recently paid $254 from ChiefValue.com
In my opinion, you should pay no more than about $270 US
before any rebate.

Good luck and have fun.
