quick license questions

Greetings,

I have an environment of 40 users using TS, with clients
being a mix of mostly Thin Client (WYSE boxes) and Win98.
In the past several months I've had to replace a
significant number of workstations due to attrition, and
retired about half my thin clients. I have 40 TS Cals and
35 users.

Looking at TS license manager shows a lot of those
licenses allocated to no longer existing hardware, while
many current users are taking up a temporary license. Do I
have to call Microsoft's clearing house to reset those
licenses, or can I do this manually???? I keep hearing
different stories on this one.

If the licenses were issued after SP3 was installed (on the TS and the LS),
the licenses will eventually come back into your pool of available licenses.
If not, you should install SP3, then call the Clearinghouse to get the
licenses back.

See the TS FAQ for more information.

Nope.....licenses issued well before SP3 was applied.

I'll call the clearing house - thanks for the
confirmation.
