Quick launch toolbar

Having installed and run the Norton Antivirus 2004 Pro, I have
encountered this odd problem:

The Quick Launch toolbar does exist, but I have to open it manually
every time I open Windows.

Further, there seems to be a problem in the so-called notifikation area
by the clock in the right corner of the taskbar. It hides all inactive
icons, even though I have not checked that checkbox in the taskbar
properties menu. What is worse, there is no arrow to expand the area with.

Please help me?

I've just run Kelly's Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm It seemed to work, but
then the icons on the desktop disappears shortly together with all other
icons - on the taskbar including the quick launch toolbar and those in
the notifikation area?
