Sometimes upon login of Windows Home Edition XP SP2, upon being at the login
screen, I get an error message that states "A duplicate Network Exists"

What is all that about and how do I remove that duplicate network?

The Trend Micro Internet Security Suite does not show any other users.

Is this computer in a network?

Hello William,

Is this PC actually on some sort of network? If it is, check the other
machine(s) to ensure that each computer's Full computer name is unique.

You can check the Full Computer name by right clicking on the My Computer
icon and left click on Properties. Then, click on the Computer Name tab and
see what the name is in the Computer description: window.

Check each computer on the network. If there IS a duplicate name, modify the
name so that each computer's Full name is unique.

Hi again William,

I was a bit sloppy in my earlier message describing how to change the Full
Computer name if there are duplications.

If you do find a duplicate name, click on the 'Change' radio button. In the
Computer name window, type in a unique name. Note that there should not be
any spaces or special characters in the name. Click OK and OK your way out
of this dialog box.

Now, reboot the PC and see what happens.
