Question on external drive

I am interested in getting a "WD 250 GB 7200 RPM USB 2.0 External Hard
Drive - My Book Essential Edition"
I do not own a laptop but desktops. So I want to use an external drive for
my desktop computers.
My question is about "My Book Essential Edition". Is this (or any drives
for My Book") for laptop?

"My Book" is a WD trademark. The USB drive can be used on a laptop or
desktop. You just need a USB port to plug it into.

Hi,

I have 2 HDD as external drives both are hooked up to USB 2.0 ports. You
should not use USB 1.0 ports for external hard drives. They work very well
and are shown in device manager. I got them because I wanted backups and
data on external drives and I recommend them highly.

With the price of drives continually going down and the size going up
eventually you won't need any drives inside a desktop machine. We're not
there yet but soon.
