Question about Network Password Window

Guest

I just added a third computer to my home network and may have selected a
wrong option or something. When Windows starts I get a small window that
says “ENTER NETWORK PASSWORD FOR MICROSOFT NETWORKING†which asks for a
password.

If I enter a password, I get another window that says “NO DOMAIN SERVER WAS
AVAILABLE TO VALIDATE YOUR PASSWORD. YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GAIN ACCESS TO
SOME NETWORK SERVICESâ€. The computer seems to work fine and I can connect to
the internet.

If I select CANCEL instead of putting in a Password, Windows still starts up
and the computer seems to work fine and I can connect to the internet.

Do I really need this Password window and if not, how do I keep it from
displaying each time? Thanks for the help. Mac

Computer #1 is Win XP Home SP2, Comp #2 is Win XP Home SP2, Comp #3 is Wind
98se. I use a Westell Wirespeed DSL modem and Linksys router. All three
comps are connected to separate inputs on the router.

Turn off the option to log onto an NT domain on the Windows 98 computer,
you'll find it in the Network Properties box by opening the Client for
Microsoft Networks.
