question about format axes

I make a chart graphic (scater X,Y)
I want to make format for axes ,so I open the format axes and chose
the scales , I put the value
in the text minimum , maximum... etc
then the value of the axes didnt change
what I MUST TO DO TO CHANGE TH VLAUE OF THE AXE

If you type a number in the minimum or maximum box, then click OK, the
axis should change to those settings.

If you close the dialog box with the X at the top right, the settings
won't be saved.

Also make sure you don't check the Auto boxes. I've seen people change
the numbers, which unchecks the boxes, then go back and check them. But
this merely tells Excel to choose whatever numbers it wants.
