Query to all Adobe and Macromedia users

We are about to publish a comprehensive review of the new version of the
CorelDraw Graphics Suite, version 12. In that review, we report on a greatly
improved PNG export capability that allows for extremely flexible import of
complex transparent graphics into PowerPoint. My personal experience is that
no other application supports PowerPoint as effectively as CorelDraw version
12.

However, we need to challenge that position a bit, and I would like to
invite proficient users of Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, Fireworks, or
JASC PaintShop Pro, to duplicate the results that we achieved. I have not
been able to, but I am not nearly as adept with those apps as I am with
Corel apps.

Please see our current review at http://www.altman.com/editorial

In particular, click Figure 1, run through the images there, and download
the presentation file. Those images use graduated transparencies and soft
drop shadows and have been historically difficult to create correctly for
PowerPoint. I would be most interested in knowing how well other
applications could do it. Thanks in advance to anyone who wants to
experiment with this...

Dear Mr. Altman,

My company has made plug-in for adobe Photoshop doing exactly what you
are asking for, and much more. It exports every layer of Photoshop
file as a separate clip, and generates necessary HTM files in order
that layered Photoshop file can be imported in PowerPoint with all
layer structure preserved.

It is much harder to explain how it works and what it does than to use
it.

If there is anyone interested to test this toll I can send you copy in
email attachment. It's size is about 400 kilobytes, containing
installation program plus PDF instructions.

I would be very grateful if one could tell me your critics or
improvement suggestions, and especially how you rate Photoshop with
this tool versus Corel 12.

Best Regards,
Vladimir Zecevic
