Tyring to shrink /dev/sda1 NTFS partition and install Linux
qtparted fails on Toshiba A105 booting Knoppix CD
Note Knoppix mounts the ntfs as readonly and I can view the file system
from the GUI

I boot from KNOPPIX_V3.9-2005-05-27-EN.iso rttien to CD
I run qtparted and highlight the /UNIONFS/dev/sda1 ntfs partion wich
is the active partiton
I then choose &resize from Operations menu

I get the following error:
ntfs_mount failed: input/output error

I had luck with Knoppix in the past with resizing partiton so I am not
sure why it is failing in this case.

Any help is apreciated

TIA
