QT & Flash not working?

Hi All,

A while back, I was provided with a solution to this concern and can't seem
to find the e-mail I thought I saved. Here is the problem.

I have the latest Flash Players but there are lots of sites I go on now that
say I need the Flash Player. So I go and download it and it shows me the
"Successfully Installed" animation. But even after rebooting my system, I
see the QuickTime symbol (watermark) with a question mark over top. Then I
see the Flash download again.

I have even gone into my "ADD & REMOVE PROGRAMS" and look to uninstall it
but there is nothing there for the flash player. Any suggestions on this
would be gratefully accepted. Some of the sites I am talking about include

Control Panel > QuickTime > Browser Plug-In > MIME settings > Flash file
(or similar) > untick.
