QFan & Vantec VA4-C7040

I really like the Vantec VA4-C7040 Heatsink/Fan combo. However, I've read
some posts about this fan not working correctly with QFan on A7N8X boards.
I'm just not sure if these posts are from when QFan didn't work correctly
with almost anything. Now that QFan seems to work, does anyone use it with
the Vantec cooler?

Thanks,
Harry

I was using Q-fan @ 10/15 ratio with my VA4, but with summer here now
and room temps getting a bit high I don't care for the way Q-fan
controls the fan.

I was hoping Q-fan was going to work like thermal case fans (variable
speed). It's sort of stupid, (on my a7n8x non-dlx v2.00) it either runs
the CPU fan at the ratio I set or at full power when the socket hits 50C
or more!

Cheers,
Ed

That's how it's supposed to work.

That's ... uhm ... stupid. Well, if you want fan control then I guess
you better buy a board from a Company with more mature fan control.
But it will be hard for you to find such a thing outside Europe.

I built my own thermal fan control circuit. ;p
