Q: Tray | Connections -> Animations. Can't get mine to animate???

I sure liked the blinky 2K tray icons -- Felt like real telemetry.

Anyway, trying to get this to work in Vista Basic (Hey, it was bundled) I
have met with no success.

Can anyone explain the error of my ways?

If you're talking about the Network icon, right-click on it and choose "Turn
on activity animation".

Here's the interesting part: I tried that & Vista seems to take notice --
subsequent visits offer "Turn off activity animation".

Yet the icon remains static.

Most vexing.
