Purchasing WinXP for Teachers

I recently have had a problem with my WinXP. I have
tried to perform updates and received the message that my
product key is invalid. I have performed faithful
updates in the past without a problem. I'm not sure why
there would suddenly be a change, unless MS has added
some additional check on product keys. I did indeed
purchase my computer with WinXP already installed. I
purchased it from a local computer store, but I suppose
that does not guarantee a valid copy that is not
pirated. Needless to say, I will not pre-purchase
Windows again.

To solve this, I am interested in purchasing another copy
of WinXP. I am a certified high school teacher and was
told that it is possible to receive a discount. Can
anyone provide details about how to receive this
discount? How much is the discount? What credentials do
I need to supply? Where can I go to purchase the
product?

Thank you for the help.

Call Microsoft and have them explain exactly why the Product Key is invalid.

When you booted the computer for the first time did you need to activate it
or was it already activated?

If it was aleady activated it may truly be a problem with the people that
built it.

What about the ever so slight possibility that there is a software bug
causing this. Far better to call microsoft and have them explain.

Did you read my post and the link I provided?
The link explains it.
If it fits the link, the license is stolen and the OP needs to contact
the seller if possible.
And/or buy Windows XP or whatever OS is desired.
Microsoft will check the same information as you can easily do without
a phone call.
