I have made a simple vlookup calculator that analyses a block of data from an
Excel report (exported from another program) which uses data (specifically
selected) pasted from that report into a "field" of the calculator sheet.
(lost you yet?) It works great, however that is a lot of pasting for our soon
to be peak season where this will be done +200 times in one day...
The issue is that the data is irregular and continues in 'blocks" for
pages. What I mean is, that the data being analysed is not the same number of
rows per set. Block "A" might be 5 lines, and block "B" might be 10. (plus it
is in the middle of merged cells further complicating things) I am not sure
how to go about selecting the right area automatically if I were to try to
write a Macro to neatly process and organize needed data. It would not be
possible to just skip every so many rows.
It will be a project for me, and I know a person knowledgable with macros
could probably come up with something easily enough. I just am not sure where
to begin on the issue of selecting specific data. It may be best to give an
example, and would be happy to send one if it will make things easier.
Thanks!
