Pull out PC details (and then over network)

Dave

Hi everyone,

I am looking for help. If someone could point me in the right direction it'd
be useful.

I am trying to obtain certain details from all PC's over my network (10 PCs
approx).

I would like to find details such as PC Hostname, whether certain programs
are installed, whether certain hardware (smart card readers, printers) are
installed etc.

Can anyone tell me what type of script (or whatever!?) I would need to do
this.

And then can anyone tell me whether it would be possible to do this over a
network rather than on each PC.

Thanks in Advance!

You could check out www.belarc.com - it's free for home users. For
commercial use, you need to buy licenses, I believe .

You're looking for PC auditing software. Examples are Everest and Belarc,
and yes, they can work over a network. If you want to check out the detail
you get, the "personal" versions are free.
