Publishing web site using FrontPage 2003

I noticed that some files are still kept in the server even those files are
not used in the web any more. When I publish web to the server using
Frontpage 2003, sometimes the un-used files in the server are deleted but
sometimes the un-used files are not deleted. I have no control of this. can I
force the web site in the server have exactly the same files on my PC? Thanks.

File are only deleted when both copies are in sync with each other and you publish using the Change
Pages only option.

If I change the file name in the web of the PC and then publish the web to
the server. Is the corresponding file in the server renamed or kept?

Yes, as long as the live/remote site is in sync with your local copy, and you change the name in FP,
and then published to the live/remote site with the Change Pages Only option selected.

Not sure how this works, if publishing to a server that doesn't have the FP extensions via FP's FTP
mode.
