Publishing Two websites

I am trying to publish two separate websites (one for my business to a domain
that I bought from yahoo and one for my students to my school's website).
However, whenever I publish my school website, it additionally publishes my
business site over the school site... i.e. when I go to my school site it
shows my business site. It publishes my business site fine, but how can I
get it not to publish my business site on my school site? I have both sites
saved in separate folders on FP, but for some reason when I publish the DHS
folder, in addition to publishing what's in the folder it continues and
publishes my business folder and for some reason considers my "index" page on
my business folder to override the "index" page for my school site. So I
cannot access my school webpages via my school website.
Thanks for ANY help!

Kinda sounds like you don't have local Webs/Sites created but are publishing loose folders.

On your local machine your business web/site should be in its own folder with whatever you named it...that folder should have a blue globe on it denoting it's a web...same for your school's web. You should work with the web opened on your local machine then publish it to the server.

Example:
C:\My Documents\My Webs\mybusiness
C:\My Documents\My Webs\myschool

Take care that you don't Publish your school's web to your business domain!

BTW, they can be named ANYTHING on your local machine, it's WHERE you Publish it to that is important...your local web can be named "Fredzzzz' but be Published to http:\\www.ethel.com - so be careful.

With your FP web open on your local pc, are you using File | Publish, or
just the Publish command?

You must use File | Publish in order to change URLs to the host server.
Publish simply publishes to the last site you published to.

FP does not publish folders, it publishes webs / sites or subwebs

If you have one of your 2 sites as a folder w/i another site you need to take that folder and convert it to a web (subweb)
- right click that "folder" and select Convert to web
- double click the new web folder icon and open that separate web to publish to a different location

If you already have the 2nd site as a subweb, make sure in your publishing options for the root (top level) web you do not have
Include Subwebs selected
