Publishing to site web folder on Apache server

A new ISP that I have set up some clients on uses Cobalt servers running
Apache.

They support the individual user folders www.sitename.co.uk/~username

Unfortunately what I need to publish to is the site /web directory off the root
directory of the site, rather than the user/web. Frontpage only "sees" the
user/web directory and it won't allow me access to the directory at
www.sitename.co.uk/../../web.

I can access either directory using a standard FTP client such as FTP Explorer.
It's not a rights problem, it appears to be a Frontpage problem.

Any suggestions?

TIA

In this case you will have to use a 3rd Party FTP application.

Have these "web directories" been added to the name servers, and have they had time to propagate
throughout the DNS system??
If not, FrontPage can't "see" them.

As an alternative, have you tried opening one of these web directories in Internet Explorer using
ftp://sitename.co.uk/../../web
and then simply dragging and dropping the files in??

Also, if your local web structure is server based ( IIS for example ) have you set these "web
directories" as subwebs and then tried publishing??
