Publish Web Not In File Menu - FP 2000

Why, and under what circumstances would Publish Web be grayed out in
the file menu of FP 2000? If you open a web from your hard drive, and
Publish Web isn't available, what went wrong? How to fix?

Hi Dick:

When this happened to me, I went the other way. Try this:
Open the website thru explorer
Choose "edit with frontpage"
When the web opens in front page, click the save button and it should
publish.

Front page 2000 had the publish buton greyed out for me too.

Whenever you have not opened (File Menu | Open Web) a web first.

Yes, but when you have opened a web first, and it is still grayed out,
what is the problem?

This occurred with a fresh install of Windows XP, and a fresh install
of FrontPage 2000 on a new drive. Is it possible that it something to
do with all the updates to both having not been done?

I use FP2000 daily, and I have Windows XP SP2 with all updates.
