public folders shorcut

R

Raul

we have an exchange public folders with hunders of
documents/calendars/contacts on it. Many users look at the same documents
all the time.

Is there a way to create a shotcut for such a folder on Public Folders?
Maybe an icon shortcut in the toolbar?

Thanks,

Add them to public folder favorites and if you use outlook 2003/2007, you
can then add them to the mail favorites.

right click on the folder in the public folder tree and choose add to
favorites. Then go to public folder favorites and repeat to add to favorite
folders. Calendar, contacts etc should show up on the appropriate module
when added to PF favorites.

To write a link to directly open a public folder (example):
Outlook:\\Public Folders\All Public Folders\Department\Individual

You can build toolbar buttons to launch favorite Web pages or Files or
Programs without going to the Favorites menu.

From your Outlook Menu:

1.. Copy the link to the public folder (kinda like above) and get ready to
paste it in step below.
2.. Select View on your Outlook program menu (not this message)
3.. Select Toolbars
4.. Select Customize
5.. Select the Commands tab if it is not already selected.
6.. Click on the Mail Message button and drag and drop it to the position
on your toolbar where you want your Web page launch button. (If you have
built a MY MENU place it in the blank gray area below on that menu)
7.. Right-click the button you just copied and give it a new name by
typing "My Public Folder Link" in the NAME box.
8.. Continue down the menu and choose Assign Hyperlink
9.. Select Open...
10.. Paste Link to public folder in the Addresss box near bottom of
Hyperlink window.
11.. Click OK.
12.. Right-click the button you just placed on toolbar.
13.. Select Change Button Image and select a picture that you would like
to use.
14.. Right-click the button one last time and select Image and Text, if it
is not already selected.
15.. Close the Customize dialog box.
You are ready to test your new button.
