.pst files are associated with Adobe Reader

Duncan

In Outlook98, Outlook hangs and/or closes when
transferring e-mail from Inbox to an archive file.
Pst file is only 65Mb.

However, when browsing for the pst files, their icon is
that of Adobe Reader.

When double-clicking on the pst file, it wants to
associate to Adobe reader.

Uninstalling Adobe Reader does NOT help.
Any suggestions?

Thnaks,

Duncan,

Depending on your OS, you just need to change the
association. In Windows 2000 for example, point at
the .PST file, right click on select OPEN WITH. Scroll
down the list to Outlook and select it. Also check the
box that says Always Use This Progaram To Open These Files.

Another way is to Double Click on My Computer then select
the TOOLS pull down menu. Select Folder Options from the
list. Now select the File Types tab. Scroll down and
find the .PST association. Click once on it and click on
the CHANGE button. When the list of applications appears,
select Outlook.

Good Luck to you.
