.pst file

I have someone who has a almost 2GB .pst file. WAY TO LARGE. I have tried
using a program what will shrink the .pst file when doing that it creates a
new .pst file, but then you need to run the scanpst.exe program. The scanpst
program runs and then says to click the repair button after it does a 8 step
error scan. After I click the repair button on this newly created .pst after
it was shrank it says its not reponding. Then I am SOL at trying to get this
..pst file to open in outlook because it to large or just won't open because
it says its not a .pst file. Is there a way to get this huge .pst to open??
or even break it up to a few .pst files?

Thanks

What program are you using to try to reduce the size of the .pst file? Is
it the .pst Crop Tool?

This is what I am thinking. Can you send this file away to get the msg from
it? This person at my work will want to know. I think I could send it away
but it will cost us some $$.

Okay - that is the Microsoft supplied tool. Did you follow the directions
to run it a couple of times to crop out pieces from it?
