PSTs can't be shared no matter how much additional software you buy if you
wish to have more than one person accessing them simultaneously.

Sorry Brian,

but PST files can be shared "live" and simultaneously with additional
software.

As maximum with untill now 600 users and 40 central PST files as "live" and
simultaneously shared PSTs with our store provider software Public
Sharefolder.

The program is also listed on a microsoft server:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/CE010719621033.aspx

Without additional software it is not possible and most of the 3rd party
programs synchronize the items but there are live and simultaneously
software programs available but not as freeware.

Hi Karen,
Can .pst files be shared.... Yes.

without buying additional software?
No.

The "freeware" solutionsare listed on this site:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011477571033.aspx

On the Microsoft Office Marketplace site is a list of third-party messaging
tools (Shareware):
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/marketplace/CE010719621033.aspx

and a list of a list of third-party (Shareware) sharing tools is also on
this site:

That's great. Your software ways "workgroup". I'm assuming, then, that PCs
in a domain can't use your software.

Hi Brian,

Public Sharefolder works in a domain (NT 4.0 - 2003), on terminal Server
(Windows and citrics) and in workgroups with NT based systems. It works
between 2 users and untill now 600 users, with our without a domain, with or
without a server, doesn´t matter. You can make your workstation or laptop to
a "server" so you can share your Outlook PST "live". :)

We have a customer (25 users) with a 190GB (!) shared Outlook 2003 unicode
PST. This large PST file you can not share with a sync based software only
with a "live" access to a shared PST.

If somebody ask now, how huge can be an Outlook 2003 PST: we confirm as
minimum 190 GB. ;-)
If you like, we can send you a test license.

Thanks for the additional details. Perhaps your web page should reflect
that it works in both workgroup and NT domain environments. (If it already
does, I must have missed it.)

That's a kind offer, but I have no need. Thanks anyway.
