pst file consistent unknown errors

Using Office 2003 with Outlook, Windows XP Pro SP3, I consistently see
errors discovered by the PST Repair tool.

I don't know the nature of these errors, nor do I know if they have any
impact on Outlook's use of the PST file. Maybe there is a little difference
of perspective between how PST File Repair Tool sees things and how Outlook
sees things? In any event, these errors (such as they are) appear daily.

The file has about 2700 items in it.

There is one additional folder besides the original mix of folders.

Hotmail Outlook Connector is being used (ver 12.0.6414.1000). This uses a
separate PST file and dedicated Inbox.

There is one POP3 account using the Inbox.

There are 4 IMAP accounts (each using their on PST file and dedicated
Inbox).

The only unusual activity I have is that I drag and drop messages from the
Hotmail PST file to that additional folder in Outlook.pst which I mentioned
earlier. I do this in order to clear the Hotmail inbox and to make these
messages available for archiving.

I'm using no addins (well, there is an iTunes COM addin, but it is
disabled).

So the question: Is routinely finding errors with PST Repair Tool a typical
experience? By the way, the number of errors found is usually in the range
of 20 to 30.

No, that is not normal. Is this always on the same pst-file?

You might want to find out what happens when you close Outlook. Does the
outlook.exe really stop, does it stay running, does it crash? You can find
this out by looking at the Task Manager and at the Event Viewer.

Hi Robert. Yes, it's always the same PST file. This would be the PST file
containing my Personal Folders (and contacts and calendar).

Outlook usually terminates normally. I'm familiar with the behavior you
suggest where Outlook continues to run even though it appears that it
terminated. That usually happens if I accidentally launch a second instance
of Outlook (I'm not using the /recycle switch). I use "minimize to tray"
and sometimes look left to the Quick Launch bar instead of right to the
tray to restore the window.

There are no application or system events related to Outlook. The event
logs are pretty clean.

I am using two non-standard items that could relate to Outlook behavior.
The first is the use of UPHClean. I think that's reaching, though.
Secondly, although this user account is an administrative account I launch
Outlook using DropMyRights (which is why I'm not using the /recycle
switch). I hesitate to stop using that, but I'm willing to suspend its use
for a while for the benefit of a test.

NOD32 A/V is installed. As a test I imagine I could disable its "EMON"
feature which checks Outlook messages.

Oh, this could be significant. This workstation was in an Active Directory
domain for a period of time and in addition I used an Exchange mailbox. As
I recall, I released this computer from the domain while still attached to
it (as recommended). I can't recall if I deleted the Exchange account
before or after, though. I usually used cached mode for the Exchange
account. Outlook.ost still exists but it is not mounted.
