PST Back up Tool for Outlook

We downloaded the Windows PST Back Up Tool. We are backing up from an XP WS
to NT 4.0 (Service Pack 6) server.

Whenever we run the PST Back up tool we get an error message upon completion
of the copying archive backup.pst from Outlook to Outlook Backup that says
Error copying files or folder, "Cannot copy archive: The process cannot
access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file." I
looked up a general search on the internet and found I think- a link between
this error message and Windows NT 4.0, something called an
error_lock_violation? Has anyone experienced this and can give us some
pointers? Thanks!

Thanks, Diane. We have just closed Outlook when we are asked to run the back
up. Are we looking at running processes or tasks? If it is tasks-then the
answer is no. Outlook does show under running processes however. Is there a
way to start running the pst back up tool w/o Outlook open at all ?

Thanks, Diane. I found the info I was looking for on the link that you sent.
It turned out to be out WinFax program. Since shutting it down and running
the back up then there has been no error message. Hope that it stay that
way. Thanks for your help!
