Pruning in CART

In cart, i grow tree by compute Gini Index, but when pruning tree, i know that it use Cross-validation but i don't understand how to use CV to pruning weakest link, who can help me, explain how to cross validation to choose weakest link for pruning ?
Sorry about language because i don't know much English language?
