Protecting VBA source code

Richard

I read everywhere that Excel is not very secure for protecting the
workbook and VBA code - Apps like OpenOffice can open protected
workbook and simply ignore the protection.

If you would create a Com Add-in for the VBA code [mind you I barely
know what this is, just heard about it], would OpenOffice be able to
get that code and bypass the security?

Are compiled Com Add-ins secure ??

Is'nt there any "trick" that can be used to Foil those free
spreadsheets from ignoring the security...!??!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this!
