proofing problem

I have Vista Ultimate RTM installed. Office 2007 Ultimate also installed.

I unchecked "capitalize first letter of sentence" in both Word and Outlook.

It resets itself (checked on) again after restarting or rebooting!

Can someone please explain how to correct that?

I even did a full o/s reload and the problem still persists.

There are two possible causes that occur to me:

1. You have an Add-in that's re-activating the option.

2. Your DATA key in the Registry is damaged, and so not retaining the change.

We've been noticing a certain amount of instability with the DATA key in Word
2007, so this could be the reason. The best remedy might be to have a macro
that makes sure the option is set every time you start Word. Are you allowed
to have macros?

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Q2hhZA==?=,
How can I repair the registry
Instructions are here, just substitute 12.0 for the version
number for office 2007.

http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customization/datakeysettingscont
ent.htm
how do I set the macro?
Here's a sample macro you can try

Sub AutoExec()
Application.AutoCorrect.CorrectSentenceCaps = false
End Sub

You'd need to put this in the Normal.dotm template. Note
that I'm not sure whether it will run if Word is started
from Outlook... For instructions on how to put the macro in
the template, see
