I have accidentally unchecked the box which prompts the user to select Open
or Save when we downloaded Word files from the internet. How do you enable
this prompt message again?? as any virus containing files might open without
prompting the user.

You can modify this in the Windows Explorer. Go to Tools/Folder Options and
then click the File Types tab. Locate the Word file type, select it, and
then click Advanced. There you should see an option for "Confirm open after
download".

Not really a Word question, but in Control Panel | Internet Options |
Security, among the Custom settings are several for "Downloads."

If you're referring to file attachments, there's a setting in Tools |
Options | Security in Outlook Express: "Do not allow attachments to be saved
or opened that could potentially be a virus," but this prevents you from
accessing attachments at all.
